United Pride Visit

An annual visit to United Pride Dairy, LLC, just outside of Phillips Friday, May 20 offered fourth grade students from Prentice, Phillips and Chequamegon Elementary Schools an up-close look at where the raw ingredients of all their favorite dairy foods come from. On the visit, students got a chance to go on a bus tour of the farm’s large cross-ventilation barn, peak into the new automated calf barn, check out activities in the milking parlor, climb into a tractor, and watch a drone flown by Jeremy Pesko of United Pride as it climbed into the sky to offer an unparalleled view of farm activities. Their visit ended with a question and answer session and presentation of awards for dairy essays in the farm’s upstairs observation area, where students also enjoyed some ice cream.
