Racing the incoming rain, boats set out onto the choppy waters of Big McKenzie on July 4 for the annual boat parade. The Spooner area celebrated America’s birthday with fireworks, games, and water sports – though some boaters did get caught in a huge downpour! Meanwhile, Shell Lake celebrated America’s birthday with a street dance and fireworks over the lake on Wednesday, July 3. On stage at the street dance, Sushi Roll played great rock and roll, even involving the kids in the act. Meanwhile, the crowd in the street danced, clapped, and sang along. [Photos by Bill Thornley]
