SPOONER– Northwind Book & Fiber will host its sixth annual Yarnapalooza from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24.
“What better way to end a great summer and get ready for fall knitting than with an all-day yarn event,” said Carol Dunn, owner of Northwind Book & Fiber.
She encourages knitters, crocheters, and other yarn crafters to go for all or part of the day. A series of free demos and mini-classes will be held:
> 10 a.m. – Embroidery mini-class (small materials fee).
> 11:30 a.m. – Pocket Prayer Shawls.
> 12 p.m. – Knitted Knockers.
> 12:30 p.m. – Crochet Water Balloons.
> 1 to 5 p.m. Drop in and learn to crochet or knit, get help with a project already started, or get advice on something new. Northwind’s instructors will be available.
A trunk show will be held featuring garments made from two Berroco Yarns – Vibe, an organic cotton and wool blend, and Natural Ultra Alpaca, an undyed yarn.
