SPOONER– Hwy. 70 going west of city of Spooner is closed due to a water main break that goes under the highway. The highway will remain closed until Wednesday, Nov. 20, at approximately noon.
"We hope to have the water back on in the area of the break by 5 p.m. today," the city said on Monday.
The Washburn County Highway Department is assisting the city with the water main problem, which is approximately a half-mile west of Hwy. 63 on Hwy. 70.
The official detour for travelers heading east on Hwy. 70 from the Siren and Webster area will take Cty. Hwy. O south to Cty. Hwy. B east, going into Shell Lake. Once in Shell Lake, travelers can take Hwy. 63 north to Spooner.
"We apologize for the inconvenience and we are working diligently to repair the main," the city said.
