TOWN OF MINONG– A group of geese crossing the road was behind a two-vehicle accident that injured four people, one of them possibly seriously, at 2:21 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11.

Bryan Snow, 52, of Webster was westbound on Hwy. 77 in the town of Minong, driving an AT&T utility truck, when he slowed almost to a stop to let a flock of geese cross the road approximately 74 feet west of Greenwood Road. He heard screeching tires and then his van was rear-ended by and SUV driven by Mandy L. Shilts, 31, of Minong.

Snow was taken by ambulance to Hayward Area Memorial Hospital with possible injuries. Shilts was taken by ambulance to Spooner Health with suspected serious injuries, along with her children, Sylas Shilts, 9, and Lane Shilts, 4, who had minor injuries.

Snow's airbag did not deploy, while Mandy Shilts's airbag did.

Inattentive driving was noted as a possible violation on Shilts's part, but no specific distraction was listed.
