September 11

MADISON— Gov. Tony Evers has signed Executive Order #44 which orders flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff on Wednesday, Sept. 11, in honor of State Day of Service and Remembrance and out of respect for the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001.

"On September 11, we reflect on our nation's grit and resilience while working to honor the legacy of those we lost and the countless heroes who responded during our time of need," Evers said. "Wisconsinites have always believed in coming together and helping our neighbors in difficult times, so it is fitting that we remember September 11 in Wisconsin through acts of service to our neighborhoods and our communities.”

Members of the governor's administration and staff will be participating in service events on September 11 as part of State Day of Service and Remembrance.
