SPOONER– Demos, seminars, vendors, and door prizes will highlight the third annual free Livin’ Life and Lovin’ It! from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 6, at the Spooner Civic Center.
“For boomers, zoomers, seniors, and those that love them,” the expo will feature local experts on nutrition and healthy cooking, health and wellness, travel, estate planning, retirement and Medicare, caregiving essentials, fall prevention, technology, home care assistance, long-term care, reverse mortgages, and more.
Chef Justin Johnson from Sustainable Kitchens will return this year for a cooking demonstration at 12:30 p.m. This year his topic will be Feeling Saucy – Using Sauces to Enhance Your Dish.
The other seminars are:
> 9 a.m., ALICE (active threat training), presented by Minong Police Chief Dennis Stuart.
> 10:10 a.m., Health Care Directives: Putting Your Medical Issues into Writing, by Diane Neste, Spooner Health.
> 10:45 a.m., Wound Healing and Swelling Management, Luke Wachewicz, ETI Wound Healing Center.
> 11:20 a.m., SCAMS: All about Investment Fraud, Jim Noble, ADRC.
The event is hosted by the Spooner Advocate and the Washburn County Aging and Disability Resources Center.
The Spooner Senior Center will provide lunch as a fundraiser, and the Birchwood Senior Center will sell a variety of homemade Amish pies by the slice.
