Thrill of victory

After a year’s postponement, the 61st Lumberjack World Championships (LWC) will be held at Lumberjack Bowl in Hayward this Thursday through Saturday, featuring a weekend of the finest timber sports competition anywhere and a tribute to the history of logging in northern Wisconsin.

Among those competing at the LWC will be three athletes who won Stihl Timber Sports Series U.S. national championships this past weekend in Little Rock, Arkansas: West Virginian Jason Lentz, Pennsylvian Martha King, who also is the defending LWC All-Around Lumberjill), and Hayward native Darby Hand, who won the Stihl Timber Sports Series rookie national title.
