As of Tuesday, March 30, Sawyer County experienced an uptick of 16 new cases of COVID-19 from Tuesday, March 23, when 1,551 cases were reported. This is the largest one-week increase of COVID cases in nearly a month.
“We have seen an increase in cases,” said Sawyer County Public Health Officer Julia Lyons. “We have also noticed that surrounding counties are jumping up. So we are very concerned, despite the fact that we’re having fairly good vaccination rates, that COVID is still within our community, and there is community spread.”
