If you like history and newspapers, stop in at The Whistle Punk in Stone Lake and have a seat at the bar. There you can read the Sawyer County Record’s Centennial Edition, published in 1981 to honor Hayward’s 100th year as a city.

Owner and Chief Beer Adviser Ian Finch told the Record that the idea to cover the bar with that newspaper originated with his sister-in-law and co-owner Linsey Carey, who purchased the copy years ago from Guy Houston, owner of Poppin Tags Thrift Store in Hayward.
