Jack Gustafson of Watertown, Minnesota, won a three-hole sudden death playoff with Alex Kolquist and Steve Barschdorf, both of Duluth, to capture the 2019 Hayward Open title at Hayward Golf Club Saturday and Sunday, June 1-2.
All three players finished their 45 holes of regulation play with even-par scores of 180. Gustafson and Kolquist played in the championship flight. Barschdorf, who played in the first flight, shot a dazzling 5-under-par 31 on his final nine holes to force the three-way playoff.
