In Sawyer County charges filed June 5, Donald Roy Butler, 66, 13762 Tall Pines Road, LCO, is charged with first-degree felony sexual assault of a boy under age 12 without great bodily harm and first-degree felony sexual contact with the same boy under age 13 between June 1, 2007, and March 31, 2008 at a residence in Radisson.
During a May 29, 2018, forensic interview with a clinical child advocacy specialist, the boy, who is now 16 years old, stated that Butler engaged in sexual acts with him when he was six years old.
A sheriff’s deputy learned that Butler was required to wear a GPS ankle monitor by the state sex offender registry starting in December 2011, as a lifetime sex offender. Butler told the deputy that he was a heavy drinker in 2007-08 and does not remember a lot of things.
Butler was placed on a $200,000 cash bond and had his initial court appearance June 5. A preliminary hearing was held June 11.
