Hayward one of the few rural cities attracting millennials
Here’s the good news on the local job front: The Hayward area has had success in attracting one of the key labor demographics: millennials, those between the age of 20 and 39. And the fact that Hayward is one of Wisconsin’s few rural cities with success in attracting millennials hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Randy Stoecker, a professor of in the community and environmental sociology department of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Extension, and Amanda Jane Hoffman, a research assistant pursing a master’s degree, both have researched Hayward, as one of 12 Wisconsin cities in a study called “Gaining and Maintaining Young Adults in Wisconsin.”
