The Rice Lake Warriors scored a goal at 4:55 of the second overtime to defeat the Hayward Hurricanes 2-1 Saturday, Jan. 15, in the championship game of the annual Hurricane boys hockey invitational.
Although Rice Lake took home the title trophy, the story of the weekend was Hayward junior goalie Logan Abric, who notched 43 saves in Friday’s 1-0 win over the KMMO Lasers and 65 saves in Saturday’s championship game for a total of 108.
