Visitation will no longer be allowed in the facility. This includes accompanying patients to appointments and visiting those who have overnight stays.

For months local health care professionals have warned if COVID-19 infections continued to rise that eventually it would impact their ability to respond, in particular stretching the capacity of rural hospitals with limited staff to offer needed care.

Now with COVID increasing rapidly around the nation, state, region and in Sawyer County — the county is reporting more than 170 new cases since last week — medical professionals are saying they are reaching a stage they feared.
