After a rain delay of one hour and 52 minutes plus an intermission for the fireworks display, the Hayward Hawks scored a 3-0 holiday victory over the Windfall Lake Loons Thursday, July 4.

The Hawks managed only three hits in the game but took advantage of six walks and two hit batsmen, creating enough traffic to scratch out the three runs.

Tom Danczyk went the distance on a six-hitter to pick up the win for the Hawks, walking one and striking out six. Jason Rasmussen had two of the Hawks’ hits, including a double, and Phil Zeigle had a single.

With the win the Hawks improved their overall record to 7-3 on the year. They have two important league games this weekend, hosting the Brill Millers Friday night and traveling to Spooner Saturday night to face the Cardinals.
