Hayward area restaurateur and Lac Courte Oreilles tribal entrepreneur David W. “Famous Dave” Anderson was inducted into the Native American Hall of Fame at the newly-opened First Americans Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on Saturday, Nov. 6.

After growing up in Chicago, son of Iris (Lac Courte Oreilles) and James (Choctaw) Anderson, Anderson established the Original Famous Dave’s BBQ restaurant on Round Lake near Hayward in 1994. It expanded into a national restaurant franchise.
