Events were held as scheduled and thousands of visitors thronged the community of Stone Lake for the 41st annual Stone Lake Cranberry Festival Saturday, Oct. 5, on a day that included gusty winds, periods of rain and temperatures in the 40s.

The festival parade was shorter than usual, as high school marching bands, the Musky Capital Shrine Patrol and motorcyclists did not participate due to the windy, wet conditions. The parade still included a VFW color guard, salute to the flag, floats, royalty and the Cranberry Singers — carrying umbrellas and wearing rain gear.
