I recently went to my regular doctor for what I have always called my annual physical exam. Some of you may know it’s no longer called that, and I was corrected when I spoke to the appointment clerk, who told me in no uncertain terms that I was not getting a physical. I was getting my Medicare Annual Wellness Exam.

In what seems like a reversal of logic, baby boomers seem to get less and less preventive care as they age, which is the time they are most prone to developing something serious or life-threatening.
