Broadband applicants for Sawyer County

Back in February, there were eight applicaitons to the Wisconsin Public Service Comission (PSC) for the 2022 state’s Broadband Expansion Grant Program for expanding broadband in Sawyer County. Of the eight applications, only the four receiving matching grants from either Sawyer County or Town of Draper were succesful. The succesful applicantions include (from left) Mosaic Technology (109), Bevecomm (25), Norvado (122) and LTD Boradband (102). The applications that were not succesful include two by Norvado in the northeastern corner (125, 121), Spectrum Mid-America (155) and Brightspeed (38).

On Thursday, June 23 the Wisconsin Public Service Commission (PSC) announced that $125 million in Broadband Expansion grants had been awarded for 71 projects.

Four of those projects will expand broadband mostly in Sawyer County to 3,707 residences and 340 businesses.
