Kenneth Neil Melby of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, passed away on Nov. 9, 2019.
The son of Neil and Vivian (Walts) Melby, he born in Racine, Wis., was raised in Hayward and attended Hayward High School. Kenny worked in Alaska for many years on the crab boats. He was a factory certified mechanic for over 45 years. Restoring, repairing and building motorcycles was his passion. He worked at ACE/Redine Cycles for many years, and for the Great Lakes Shipping Company
Kenny enjoyed making his own maple syrup, wild ricing, sailing and racing in his ice boat. He also enjoyed all of the years he spent volunteering for the American Birkebeiner.
Kenny is survived by his son, Christopher (Bonnie); grandson, CJ, his mother, Vivian; sister, Debra Rankin; and his brothers, Steven (Maggie) and Scott (Wendy).
Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Neil, and his brother-in-law, John Rankin.
A funeral service for Kenneth N. Melby will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the First Lutheran Church in Hayward, with visitation starting at 10 a.m.
