James T. Owsianowski, 78, of Cable passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at his home.
James Thomas was born May 29, 1941 in Milwaukee, the son of Casimer and Iris (Brieder) Owsianowski. He was raised in the Milwaukee area and graduated from Bayview High School there. After his graduation Jim joined the U.S. Marine Corp. on June 9, 1958. Jim earned the rifle sharpshooter badge and the Good Conduct Medal for his time in service. He was honorably discharged on March 26, 1962, and then served two more years in the Marine Corps Reserve. Jim returned to Milwaukee, where he went to school to be a machinist. Jim worked for Kyle Manufacturing for most of his career in South Milwaukee. Jim was joined in marriage to Judy Keay in Milwaukee, and they made their home in Franklin, Wisconsin. Jim spent many weekends at his cabin property on Atkins Lake near Cable, and retired there after his retirement. Jim enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing and collecting paraphernalia from those activities.
Jim is survived by his three siblings, Karen Lopez of Greenfield, Wisconsin, Robert (Judy) Owsianowski of Greenfield, and Therese Owsianowski of Bayview; two stepchildren, Chris Keay of Franklin, and Heather Keay of Orlando, Florida; three step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A gathering will be held for Jim from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Pioneer Bar, 47010 Highway D, in Cable.
