Old Southern BBQ Smokehouse’s original Dixie Red barbecue sauce was awarded the best sauce on the planet in the American Royal Association’s “Best Sauce on the Planet” competition.
Over 450 competitors entered the worldwide sauce competition, with entries from 36 states and three countries. Dixie Red placed third in the mild tomato category and fourth overall.
“It is an honor and a privilege to receive these awards,” said owner and Old Southern BBQ founder Dave Anderson.
Dixie Red is a sweet, gluten-free Kansas City-style barbecue sauce with a hint of smoke.
Old Southern BBQ was started in Hayward and has expanded in the past year to include locations in Rice Lake and Hudson.
