On Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 23-24, Sawyer County citizens will celebrate National Voter Registration Day through their participation in a massive 50-state effort to register voters.
The non-partisan League of Women Voters will be out in force to assist voters who want to register or update their registration if they have had an address change or have not voted within four years. The annual voter registration campaign has assisted hundreds of thousands of voters over the years.
League members will be present at the following Hayward locations to assist anyone with registration and or answer citizen questions.
• Monday, Sept. 23: 9 a.m. to noon at the Hayward Community Food Shelf, 16216W Highway 63.
• Tuesday, Sept. 24: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Sherman & Ruth Weiss Community Library and at Marketplace Foods.
Citizens should have their State of Wisconsin driver’s license, ID card or tribal card. If these are not available, bring proof of residence, including a statement or document showing the voter’s name and current residential address (utility bill, paycheck or paystub, a bank or credit card statement, a document issued by a unit of government).
