On Saturday, May 30, the fabled Telemark Lodge in the town of Cable, Bayfield County, was once again open to the public, but this time not for recreation, or dining or a hotel stay, but to view items available for an online auction.
The public had access to three floors of the Main Lodge, including the entry alcove with one of the largest stone fireplaces in the Midwest, a performance area and two large dining rooms with bars featuring colorful, historical murals, and they were also able to visit two floors of the lodging rooms.
Many remarked how the Main lodge appeared to be in excellent shape. Several said they wished any future development would restore the Main Lodge instead of tearing it down.
