The Summit Players will present Shakespeare’s classic tale of love and loss, “Romeo and Juliet,” at 7 p.m. Friday, July 12, at Copper Falls State Park as part of the troupe’s summer tour of select Wisconsin state parks.
The troupe also will present a 45-minute workshop at 5:30 p.m. for children, with lots of fun activities and an explanation of how Shakespeare used nature in his plays.
Romeo and Juliet came from rival families, but quickly found that their love ran deeper than the divisions between them. With the help of loyal friends, the star-crossed lovers sought to overcome the hate that kept them apart, but they find that escaping from the vicious cycle of hate is impossible.
Area residents are invited to bring a chair and a picnic, and enjoy the show. A state park sticker is required.
