The 23rd annual Northwoods Humane Society Cause Fore Paws fundraiser and golf outing will be held Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 24-25, at Garmisch Inn on Lake Namakagon and Telemark Golf Course at Cable.

All proceeds from the two-day event benefit the animals at the Northwoods Humane Society shelter. Cause Fore Paws is sponsored and chaired by Timber Ford of Hayward, Garmisch Inn and Telemark Golf Course.

On Saturday, Aug. 24, Dennis Howard, owner of Garmisch Inn, will host a wine and appetizer party, along with silent and live auctions. The event begins at 4 p.m. and is open to the public at a cost of $10 per person. The evening again will include the NHS’s matching giving program called “Give the Dog a Bone.”

Then on Sunday, Aug. 25, the action moves to Cable at Telemark Golf Course, where teams will tee off for 18 holes of fun with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Golfers receive a golf cart, range balls, coffee, donuts and lunch served at the course.

Following the tournament, participants will return to Garmisch Inn, where they will enjoy a prime rib and/or champagne chicken dinner and awards will be presented.

“It’s time to finalize your plans, and lock in your teams for the Cause Fore Paws golf outing,” said co-chair Curt Beilke. “If you are not a golfer, please join us for Saturday’s event, and consider volunteering to help on the golf course on Sunday.”

Golf applications can be found on the Timber Ford of Hayward website or golfers may register by calling Garmisch Inn at (715) 794-2204.
