A second-half goal had cut the deficit in half but the Rice Lake girls soccer team was unable to net the equalizer in a 2-1 loss to Chippewa Falls on Tuesday at Pug Lund Field.

Kallahan Bowman got Rice Lake on the scoreboard 61 minutes, and 38 seconds into the contest, which trimmed the Warrior deficit to one. Rice Lake had gotten the ball out of its defensive side of field with Jordan Roethel passing it up to Julia Holthaus who advanced it forward. A pass was made to Kim Fries and then she sent it ahead to Bowman about 25 yards from the goal. Bowman cut past one defender to her right and sent a strike just outside the reach of the Chippewa Falls goaltender and into the back of the net on the left side.
