Having a perfect record marred by one of the top Division 1 soccer programs in the state isn’t the worst. But it still stings.

Rice Lake knew it would be vying for the top of the Big Rivers Conference with soccer powerhouses Eau Claire Memorial and Hudson after picking off the other Big Rivers teams it’s faced this season one by one. After Memorial defeated Rice Lake 3-0 in 86 minutes on Tuesday, the Old Abes and the Hudson Raiders are now tied for first.
