On Monday evening, the Barron County Board of Supervisors took a look at the first draft of the county’s proposed $71 million budget for 2022, and the good news is that a rise in sales tax revenue will be used to lower the tax levy for taxpayers.

County Administrator Jeff French said he and Finance Director Jodi Busch have been strategizing how to maximize excess fund balances over multiple years.
