Thanksgiving 2019 crash

Barron County police and medical units responded to a one-vehicle roll over that was reported at 12:14 a.m. on Thanksgiving. The only occupant, Cole R. Schiebel, 21, was taken to Cumberland Hospital but life saving measures were unsuccessful. 

A 21-year-old Kewaskum man died early Thanksgiving morning after his pickup truck rolled over on Hwy. 48 east of Cumberland. 

Cole R. Schiebel was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Cumberland Hospital where life saving measures were unsuccessful, according to a Barron County Sheriff’s Department press release. 

The crash was reported at 12:14 a.m., and the press release stated that road conditions and alcohol were contributing factors. 

The Barron County Sheriff's Department, Cumberland Police Department, Cumberland Fire Department, Cumberland Ambulance and North Memorial Helicopter responded to the scene, according to the release.
