Leonora “Leo” Blaske Brede 

Leonora passed away peacefully on June 28, 2019 at age 92 in Fridley, MN where she had been living.  

She was born May 14, 1927 to Leo and Frances Neutzling in Albany, MN. Leonora graduated as valedictorian from Albany High School in 1945. She worked at a defense plant in Minneapolis and then as the bookkeeper at the Alexandria, MN telephone company. 

Leonora married Howard Blaske on May 2, 1953 in Alexandria, MN and then moved to Duluth, MN where they lived for eight years. They moved to Rice Lake, WI and opened Blaske Printing, which they operated for 17 years. Years after Howard’s death, she married Roy Brede. She enjoyed golf, bowling and spending time with her family and friends. 

She is survived by two daughters: Sue Koenitzer (Tom) of Forest Lake, MN and Cheryl Blaske of Columbia Heights, MN; a son-in-law, Craig Healy of Rice Lake; four grandsons; Matt (Meg) and Andrew Koenitzer and Nate (Charissa) and Dan (Jacquelyn) Healy; seven great grandchildren, two stepsons, two stepdaughters, several step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husbands, Howard Blaske and Roy Brede and daughter Debra Healy. 

Funeral Services will be held at 2PM Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI, with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery in Rice Lake.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals.
