Dennis Willger, 68, of Rice Lake, WI, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019, at Sacred Heart Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on July 5, 1951, in Rice Lake, to Paul and Francis (Uchytil) Willger.
Dennis grew up in the Rice Lake area and loved to farm, fish and hunt. He took many hunting and fishing trips including several hunting trips to Wyoming and fishing in Canada.
Dennis loved his family and valued the time spent with them whether it was at the family farm or on a hunting or fishing trip. He also prized his time spent with his friends at the butcher shop.
Dennis had a passion for helping others which led him to service for 32 years at Bear Lake/Haugen Fire Department, as well as serving as a board member for Bear Lake Township for 32 years.
He is survived by his father, Paul; brothers, Richard, Louis (Kathy), Charles (Carol), Paul (Catherine) and Bill (Janelle), all of Rice Lake; sisters, Rose (Larry) Watson of Arizona, Theresa (Don) Dostal, Lucille (Gary) Taylor, Monica Solnder of Rice Lake, Patty (Scott) Kirchner of Exeland and Carol Willger of Rice Lake; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, grandnieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother, Francis Willger; brother-in-law, Bruce Soldner; and nephew, Isaac Taylor.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Moose Lodge in Rice Lake with a eulogy at 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Bear Lake/Haugen Fire Department are preferred.
