The Barron County Board chair said at the end of the board’s June meeting that he did not want to put a partisan issue on the July agenda of the Barron County Board of Supervisors. He has since talked to county leadership and reversed his decision. A dark money resolution, brought forward by the Barron County Republican Party, was discussed at length at the July 6 meeting of the County’s Executive Committee, which voted to advance two resolution options to the County Board at its July 20 meeting.

Barron County Republican Party Chair Jim Swenson had sent Chairman Louie Okey a letter, dated June 9, concerning the banning of private money from being used in any election process in Barron County.
