Long ago, in a galaxy not so far away. A man with a vision wrote something called “Adventures of Luke Starkiller, As Taken From the Journal of the Whills, Saga 1” He had a tough time selling it to many different studios. He would go through script rewrites and name changes before it was all said and done. He eventually sold it to Fox studio, but the troubles were not over. They gave him less than half of the money he had asked for. The studio did not see the film as a great money maker but trusted the creator and director based on his previous works.
This man helped create a new and exciting way of storytelling. He brought a full-length science fiction action drama to the silver screen in 1977. Influenced by Buck Rodgers and many other sci-fi patriarchs, this man created something, but he never imagined that it would become a franchise and household name all over the world. He actually convinced the studio to allow him to keep the full rights to merchandise and licensing.
