Rice Lake and Ashland played to a 2-2 overtime tie before the Ashland won on penalty kicks, 4-3, in a Division 3 girls soccer semifinal Thursday in Rice Lake.

The No. 1 seeded Warriors took a 2-1 lead early in the second half of overtime, but Ashland tied it up with only 2 minutes remaining in overtime. The teams both converted three of five penalty kicks in the first shoot-out before Ashland won in the "sudden victory" second shoot-out when Rice Lake missed its first shot and the Oredockers' Gina Kempf converted.

Ashland, seeded No. 2, will go on to face Medford on Saturday afternooon at a site yet to be determined. Medford defeated Minocqua Lakeland 2-0 in Thursday's other semifinal.

Rice Lake, a No. 1 seed entering the tournament, ends its season at 11-6-4. Ashland moves on with a 20-2-1 record.
