Storm damage loans available

Synergy's grainery near Almena was among many businesses damaged from the July 19 storm that hit the southern half of the county.

In an effort to assist businesses impacted by storms that occurred on July 18, 2019, the West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission has secured Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) funds to provide disaster recovery loans.

The loans are for up to $20,000 at a 0% fixed interest rate. Pay back is over a 24 month period, with payment deferred during the first 6 months.

To be eligible the business must be located within the seven-county region (Barron, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Polk, or St. Croix counties), have suffered measurable physical or economic losses due to the storms and their aftermath, and attest to intent to resume business operation in the community as quickly as possible.

Eligible activities include procurement of cleanup and restoration services; operating expenses such as payroll; rent/mortgage for temporary space; repairs; and reconstruction. If you know of anyone who could use these funds,  email Tobi LeMahieu or call 715-836-2918.
