The American Red Cross awarded Mosaic Telecom a Sound the Alarm award for the company’s successful installation of more than 400 smoke alarms in the past year. Mosaic credited the success to its entire staff, from the sales people that offered the free smoke detectors to the technicians that installed them.
“The decision for Mosaic to partner with the Red Cross in the implementation of this program was simple—we are working together to save lives,” said Shanna Roe, Mosaic’s marketing specialist.
Red Cross Northwest Wisconsin Chapter Executive Director Kyle Kriegl said the goal had been for the regional smoke detector program to hit 730 installations in its fifth year. Overall the program installed nearly 1,000.
The award coincided with National Fire Prevention Week, and Chetek Fire Chief Ryan Olson told those assembled that smoke detectors are one of the most important safety devices in our homes.
He reminded everyone to replace detectors every 10 years, and to also install carbon monoxide detectors.
