Midsummer Eve Bonfire Fest

Bonfires, or good fires in French, are lit as part of celebrations. The Scandinavians include a bonfire as part of their Midsummer Eve festivities.

Scandinavian or not, all are invited to a new event at the Barron County Historical Society's Pioneer Village Museum west of Cameron on Saturday, June 22 from 5-8 p.m. for a Midsummer Eve Bonfire Fest.

The celebration of the summer solstice will include a dance around the Maypole, Hardanger fiddle and Nordic music, games including kubb, sack races, and egg and spoon, Nordic craft demonstrations of woodcarving and rosemaling and crafts including flower crowns and wreaths, concluding with a bonfire.

The lunch is open for troll rolls and more. Admission is free.
