Eau Claire Memorial found its offense in the second half to rally past Rice Lake, 42-38, in Big Rivers girls basketball Friday night in Rice Lake's Ole Olsen Gym.

Rice Lake held a 15-10 lead at halftime, but Memorial rode the 10 second half points of senior guard Sydney Brennan to outscore the Warriors 32-23 in the second half.

It was the Big Rivers opener for undefeated Memorial, now 3-0 overall. Rice Lake slips to 0-4 overall with four single-digit losses to open the season. The Warriors are 0-2 in the Big Rivers.

Brennan led the Memorial Old Abes with 12 points, and senior guard Olivia Tangley scored 11. Rice Lake got 21 points from sophomore Brynn Olson.

Rice Lake settled for an 8 of 14 night at the free throw line, while Memorial staggered to a 9 of 22 performance at the line.

Rice Lake looks for its first win again Tuesday, Dec. 10, when the Warriors host Holmen at 5:45 p.m. on the front end of a girls-boys doubleheader in Ole Olsen Gym. The Warriors host Northwestern in the second game, starting about 7:30 p.m.
