A 26-mile chase through Rusk County ended in a swamp on Wednesday, June 5.
The Rusk County Sheriff's office reports that deputies apprehended Justin Neiderman of Glen Flora after he chose to travel down an old logging road and got stuck in a swamp.
The chase began at 9:49 p.m. when a deputy attempted a traffic stop near the Village of Ingram for a traffic violation. Niederman led officers on a 26-mile high speed chase through the back roads of northeastern Rusk County until he was taken into custody around 10:24 p.m.
There were no injuries related to the chase and no damage to the patrol vehicles.
