Rice Lake's junior setter Renay Reider turns her back to the net for a bump in Thursday's Division 2 regional semifinal in Bloomer. The home Blackhawks advanced with a 3-1 victory.

Rice Lake won the first set but no more in losing to Bloomer in Division 2 regional volleyball Thursday night in Bloomer.

The No. 2-seeded Blackhawks dropped the first set on their home court, 25-20, before storming back to dominate the match with 25-17, 25-16 and 25-13 wins over the No 7-seeded Rice Lake Warriors.

Bloomer's balanced attack, led by the hitting of Emma Krejci, Emma Seibel and Larissa Fossum, all seniors, gave the Blackhawks a fourth set surge after an early 8-8 tie. Bloomer scored six straight points to go up 14-8, and then had a run of 10 straight to break the game open at 23-12.

Rice Lake was led by the 15 kill attacks of Jordan Pagac, the 10 kills of Hailey Repka, 26 assists from Renay Reider and 14 digs by Lexi Orr.

Bloomer hosts the regional final Saturday against No. 3 Altoona, which defeated  No. 6 Ellsworth on Thursday, 3-2.
