Freshman Claudia Lasiowski won her first varsity meet, leading the Chequamegon High School girls' cross-country team to first place in the Copper Falls Invitational at Mellen on Saturday, Sept. 7.

"It was a perfect day for Chequamegon cross-country," Screaming Eagles' coach Mary Patterson said. "The girls' teams swept the meet. All coming away as champions, and our boys' teams moved up in their team placings. We were proud of all of our teams on the day and really felt the kids were giving us their all. Our teams were looking to get back on track after the Bruce meet and I couldn’t have been happier with how they responded."
