Price County seniors can once again participate in the Senior Farmers’ Market program. The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (Senior FMNP) offers older citizens an opportunity to purchase fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables and herbs from certified farmers.
Senior FMNP coupons can be used through Oct. 31 at any participating farmers market or roadside stand in Wisconsin. In addition to offering nutritious food, Senior FMNP supports local economies by increasing the use of farmers markets.
Those who are eligible to receive the coupons must be: a Price County resident, age 60 or above or Native Americans age 55 years or above; and have an annual income less than $23,107 for a single person; less than $31,284 for a family of two.
For individuals who are unable to pick up the coupons in person, another person may be designated by stating so on the eligibility agreement form. Coupons are limited to $25 per person or household and are in $3 and $4 increments.
