Strobl, Alan J of Minneapolis MN, formerly of Kennan & Catawba WI, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2022 from cancer. A 1963 graduate of Phillips High School, he was a proud veteran, having served our country during the Vietnam War. Alan is well known for his skills at auto engine building and repair. He owned and operated Humbolt Auto Service in Minneapolis for decades. After his retirement he volunteered at a Minneapolis food shelf. When he wasn’t out riding his bicycle he kept busy repairing bikes for neighborhood kids or snow blowing the neighbors’ sidewalks. He also repaired lawn mowers and snow blowers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Kathryn Strobl, brother Tom and Sister-in-law Juanita. He is survived by his son Greg (Sarah), brothers Vince and Philip (Kathy), sister Cecilia Gradinjan, sister-in-law Ginny, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by former wife Mary Margaret, many cousins and friends. The funeral will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Catawba. Visitation starts at 10:00 am followed by 11:00 Mass and burial on April 28, 2022. Memorials preferred to the church.
