Robert Josef Gelina, age 58, of Park Falls, took flight to his final destination on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. He was born on June 16, 1961 in Park Falls, the son of Alfred and Shirley (Mason) Gelina. He was a graduate of the Park Falls High School and lifetime resident of Park Falls. On Aug. 19, 1994, he married Sharlene Pospichal. Bob worked for the Flambeau Paper Mill for many years, and was well known for SR Hobbies and Crafts and most recently Bob’s Computer Clinic that he owned and operated. Throughout his life he had a love for building and flying radio-controlled airplanes, a fascination of fireworks, the Green Bay Packers, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Sharlene of Park Falls; two sons: Ryan Gelina and fiancé Jessica of Strum, and Alexander Gelina and fiancé Maggy of Green Bay; his beloved puppy Sandy; eight sisters and brother: Patty (Bob) Hilgart of Park Falls, Ginny (Dave) Bablick of Tomahawk, Barbara (Bob) Gustafson of Park Falls, Nancy (Dan) Kotke of Park Falls, Alison (Mike) Bablick of Park Falls, Jim Gelina of Park Falls, Renee’ Gelina of Rice Lake, and Sharon Bender of Jefferson; his brother-in-law, Jerry Szymik of Butternut; his sister-in-law, Pat (Paul) Dishman of Tennessee; his sister-in-law, Sharon Weik of Irma; his brother-in-law, Daniel (Kathy) Pospichal of Butternut; his former wife, Donna of Chippewa Falls; four children who called him “Grampa Sabo”; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Judy Szymik.
His laughter and smile will be remembered, his worries and pain are gone, may he fly high above and watch over us always.
A memorial service was held on Aug. 19 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls, with Fr. Shaji Pazukkathara officiating.
