On Friday, Dec. 20, Dr. Robert Horna, loving husband, father of three, grandfather of two, and great-grandfather of one, lost his battle with lymphoma cancer.
Robert (Bob) Horna was born on April 14, 1936 in Cicero, Illinois, to Anton and Rose Horna. He received his Phd in English Literature and worked in Park Ridge, Illinois, at Maine South High School for over 30 years as an English teacher with additional classes in science fiction and film.
Bob had a passion for boating, scuba diving, music and science fiction.
Robert (Bob) and his wife have a cottage in Phillips on Dardis Lake and spend their summers with their children at the cottage enjoying water sports, fishing and enjoying time together as a family.
Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dianne Ose; his daughter, Deidre Schibelka; her husband, Gary Schibelka; his sons: David and Allen; and step-daughter, Betty Allen; his son, Craig Horna; and step-daughter, Kelly Horna; grandchildren: Alex La Voie and Kyle Horna; and great-grandchild, James Aston La Voie.
The family has requested no service or funeral.
