Marlene Margaret Setterman, age 79, of Fifield, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.She was born on July 5, 1940 in Butternut, the daughter of Otto and Margaret (Hoffman) Tank.She graduated from Butternut High School in 1958. After graduating from high school, Marleneworked for St. Croix Fishing Rod Company.On Oct. 14, 1961 she married Lawrence R. Setterman.While raising her children, Marlene continued to work for St. Croix winding rods at home.She worked as a cook for the Park Falls school system in the early 1980’s and then for Marquip in Phillips as an electrical assembly worker for more than 10 years.Marlene was also the bookkeeper for the family business. She also enjoyed creating beautiful wedding cakes for many years.Marlene enjoyed bowling, going to performances at the casino then afterwards gambling one penny at a time, and then coming home to “GiGi” and “Fluffy.”Then most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three children: Donna (Mark LaVick) Mohney of Chippewa Falls, Douglas (Dana) Setterman of Fifield/Florida, Denis (Carrie) Setterman of Phillips; five grandchildren: Ryan (Jessica), Kayla (Tucker/ “Trucker”), Nicole (Scottie), Kaden, and Jevin; six great-grandchildren: Jayce, Ava, Bayley, Ali, Collyn “boy 1”, and Cameron “boy 2”; four brothers: Edward Tank of Butternut,Ronald (Sherry) Tank of Butternut, Robert (Tank) of Butternut, and Otto (Shelley) Tank of Park Falls; one sister, Carol Billing of Park Falls; one sister-in-law, Arlene Tank of Glidden; two brothers-in-law: Jim Setterman of Fifield and Jerry Setterman of Park Falls; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence; her son, Dale; her sister, Patricia Lobermeier; two brothers: Richard and William Tank; and two brothers-in-law: Lawrence “Sonny”Billing and Duwayne Lobermeier.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019 at Peace Lutheran Church in Park Falls.Rev. Dale Heinlein will officiate.
A visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.
