Joseph D. Radlinger Sr.

Joseph D. Radlinger Sr., age 82, of Butternut, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019. He was born Feb. 13, 1937 on the family farm in Butternut, the son of Joseph and Helen (Haegerl) Radlinger. He graduated from Butternut High School and began logging and dairy farming, only recently retiring. On June 8, 1957, he married Patricia Mahnke. The couple enjoyed raising their five children and were active members of the community. He served on the Butternut School Board for 23 years. Joe loved to fish and could be found on many Sunday evenings seated on his bucket out at the Stock Farm. Joe loved his family and was always supportive. He will be sorely missed but he leaves with the love of many. He grew the biggest garden so there was always food for his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a mentor, friend and role model of faith. He was also a member of the Town of Chippewa Board and the Knights of Columbus. Joseph was passionate about his work and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Pat of Butternut; five children: Penny (Terry Wollerman) Radlinger of Park Falls, Joe D. Radlinger of Hudson, David M. Radlinger of Butternut, John (Tammy) Radlinger of Butternut, and Diane (Greg) Wagner of Park Falls; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Ronald J Radlinger Sr. of Butternut; one sister, Donna Bubenic of Phillips; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert Radlinger.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Butternut. Deacon Robert Schienebeck will officiate.

A visitation will be held at the church on Friday, Sept. 27, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.

The Novitzke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
