Sept. 11, 1939 - June 29, 2019
George William Good, 79, of Warrens, formerly of Prentice, passed away on June 29, 2019, at the V.A. Hospice Unit in Tomah. A private interment was held at the Prentice Cemetery.
George was born on Sept. 11, 1939, in Prentice to Frank and Lucille Good. He attended school in Prentice and served in the U.S. Army from Feb. 5, 1967-Jan. 20, 1960 and July 12, 1960-June 29, 1963.
After his tours of duty, he worked for Milwaukee General Construction Company in Milwaukee. He went on to attend truck driving school and drove for several companies over the years before buying his own truck. After many years on the road, he retired to a small house (which he painted purple) in the pine bogs of Warrens. He enjoyed going to auctions and decorating with many, many yard art finds.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Good of Medford; his friend of many years, Bob Gmirek of Lena; nephews: Don Riedel of Prentice, Mark Good of Gleason, Frank Fox of Carlsbad, California; nieces: Sandy Raddatz of Bemidji, Minnesota, Dawn Oquist of North Branch, Minnesota, Kathy Kosterman of Prentice, Sharon Basaldua of Mukwanago, Cindy Szamanda of Mukwanago, Gail McGhee of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Debra Good of Rice Lake, Karen Wohlleben of Hartland, Tammy Swanson of Duluth, Diane Ashenbrenner of Eagle, Mary Mieves of Ogema, Julie Jensen of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Patti Wood of Mukwanago.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Paul and Dale; his sisters: Laura Riedel, Francis Carter, and Viola Fox; his nephew, Larry Swanson; his nieces: Barbara Cooper and Charlotte Engel.
